Jessica Alba Would Return For a DARK ANGEL Series Under One Condition
Jessica Alba’s Dark Angel sci-fi series only ran for two seasons, but it was a really good show worth watching. It’s a shame that it was a short-lived series.
Dark Angel is set in a dystopian future where the U.S. has been crippled by a massive electromagnetic pulse. The story centers around Max Guevara, a genetically enhanced super-soldier who escapes from a covert military facility and lives in a desolate Seattle, hiding from her creators while searching for her genetically modified "siblings."
Max works as a bike messenger by day and uses her extraordinary abilities to fight corruption and help those in need by night. It had a good mix of action, drama, and social commentary.
The show was created by James Cameron and Charles H. Eglee, and Alba would love to return for a revival series under one condition, Cameron would have to be involved.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight she said: "Would I do Dark Angel again? If [James Cameron] wanted to do Dark Angel, I would do Dark Angel again. Yeah, 'cause he really has been a mentor of mine, and it would just be fun to work with him.
“We have that history together, and I admire him so much, so I think it would be fun. [Dark Angel] was ahead of its time, for sure. It would be really interesting just to see where Jim and [Charles H. Eglee] would take it knowing what we know now about AI and everything, yeah, and just where technology is. It would be cool to see how... where they would dream."
The series definitely was ahead of its time and I think a revival could be really cool. There’s been no talk of a revival, but it’s something that should be considered.
