Jessica Biel Set to Star in Sci-Fi Thriller URSA MAJOR From the Directors of KIN
Jessica Biel is set to star in the upcoming sci-fi thriller flick Ursa Major, alongside Xochitl Gomez, who is best known for her performance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The movie will be directed by the dynamic twin brothers Jonathan and Josh Baker, who previously brought us the cool sci-fi action film Kin.
The story is set on an earth-like planet, “where a mother (Biel) and daughter (Gomez) fight for survival while hiding from a group of relentless hunters. With the added threat of an imminent and deadly storm, Natalie — now a teenager — begins questioning her mother, Charlie, about who they really are, how they got here, and what they need to do to survive.”
The script was written by Patrick Somerville, who is behind the HBO Max series Station Eleven and Netflix's Maniac, with the help of Colleen O'Brien and Katie French.
Biel is taking over the role of Charlie from Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who, unfortunately, had to leave the project due to scheduling conflicts. But with a star-studded team like this, we're sure the movie is in safe hands.
Biel most recently produced and starred in Hulu's true-crime limited series, Candy, as the notorious ax murderer Candy Montgomery. She has also been working as an executive producer on hit shows like The Sinner and Cruel Summer, which set ratings records for Freeform.
