Jessica Chastain Tries to Stop World War III with a Team of Spies in Trailer for Action Thriller THE 355
Universal Pictures has shared the first trailer for director Simon Kinberg’s upcoming international spy action thriller ,The 355. The film centers on five rival international agents that team up to stop a threat that could cause World War III. The film has an all-star cast that includes Jessica Chastain, Diane Kruger, Bingbing Fan, Lupita Nyong’o, and Penélope Cruz. It will also feature MCU star Sebastian Stan and Edgar Ramírez.
The story revolves around a “dream team of formidable female stars coming together in a hard-driving original approach to the globe-trotting espionage genre in The 355.”
“When a top-secret weapon falls into mercenary hands, wild card CIA agent Mason “Mace” Brown will need to join forces with rival badass German agent Marie, former MI6 ally and cutting-edge computer specialist Khadijah, and skilled Colombian psychologist Graciela on a lethal, breakneck mission to retrieve it, while also staying one-step ahead of a mysterious woman, Lin Mi Sheng, who is tracking their every move.

Chastain was the driving force behind this film. She reached out to each of the actresses that she wanted in the film, called them herself and offered them the parts. She received confirmations from all of them right away.
The title of the film, 355, comes from one of the very first spies in the United States during the American Revolution. The spy was a woman, so Agent 355 has become slang in the CIA for a female spy, which Chastain learned while doing her research for her 2012 film Zero Dark Thirty.
The 355 hits theaters on January 15th, 2021.
