Jim Caviezel Goes to War With a Ruthless Corporation in the Action-Packed GHOST SOLDIER Trailer
Jim Caviezel is armed, angry, and ready to turn rural Wyoming into his personal battlefield in Sony Pictures' new action thriller Ghost Soldier. The first trailer has arrived, and this thing looks gloriously ridiculous in the best kind of old-school action movie way.
Caviezel plays Henry "Fitz" Fitzgerald, a solitary guy living off the grid in his hometown and keeping his mysterious past to himself. That peaceful existence gets blown apart when a powerful foreign corporation rolls into the community with plans to seize Fitz's property along with his neighbors' land for a massive payday.
Unfortunately for the corporate goons, they picked a fight with a former Green Beret, Special Forces soldier, weapons systems engineer, and advanced weapons developer. Fitz has the training and some seriously nasty toys to make their attempted land grab much more complicated than expected.
Once Fitz decides to fight back, Ghost Soldier turns him into a one-man army. He has a lifetime of military experience, an unwavering code of justice, and advanced weapons his enemies haven't encountered before. The corporation may have money and manpower, but Fitz knows exactly how to wage war.
The whole thing has the wonderfully absurd flavor of the action movies that packed theaters and video stores during the '90s. You've got one highly trained badass, a seemingly unstoppable enemy, an entire community in danger, crazy weapons, explosions, and plenty of bad guys who clearly have no idea how badly they've screwed up.
It looks dumb. It looks excessive. It also looks like it could be a hell of a lot of fun.
Caviezel is joined by Olivia Thirlby, Beau Knapp, Garret Dillahunt, and Shea Whigham, giving the film a pretty great supporting cast to throw into the chaos.
Ghost Soldier is directed by William Eubank, who previously helmed The Signal, Underwater, Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, and Land of Bad. Chris Papasadero wrote the screenplay, with David Zelon and William Sherak producing.
Sony Pictures will release Ghost Soldier in U.S. theaters on November 6, 2026.
