Jim Caviezel Says Mel Gibson's PASSION OF THE CHRIST Sequel Will Be The "Biggest film in History"

Mel Gibson is moving forward with his sequel to The Passion of The Christ and Jim Caviezel has told USA Today that he is in talks to reprise his role of Jesus in the film. The film is said to tell the story of Christ's resurrection and according to the actor, the film will "shock audiences" and be the "biggest film in history." He said:

"There are things that I cannot say that will shock the audience. It’s great. Stay tuned. I won’t tell you how he’s going to go about it. But I’ll tell you this much, the film he’s going to do is going to be the biggest film in history. It’s that good."

That's some pretty hefty hype, but knowing Mel Gibson, he always tends to go big on the films that he makes. He is expected to direct this sequel and I'm curious to see how his vision of this legendary story turns out. The film is being written by Braveheart scribe Randall Wallace, who previously said:

"I always wanted to tell this story. The Passion is the beginning and there's a lot more story to tell."

Gibson self-financed Passion of the Christ with 30 million dollars which ended up blowing up at the box office in 2004 and made over $611 million worldwide. There's no doubt that this sequel is going to be a huge hit if it actually ends up getting made.
