Jimmy Smits and Alistair Petrie Are Reportedly in Talks to Reprise Their STAR WARS Roles in the Cassian Andor Series

According to a new report from Bespin Bulletin, Star Wars alums Jimmy Smits and Alistair Petrie are currently in talks to reprise their roles from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in Lucasfilm’s upcoming Cassian Andor Disney+ series.

Smith played Bail Organa in the Star Wars prequel films before returning for Rogue One. He was Alderaan's Senator and the adoptive father of Leia Organa. Then there’s Petrie, who played General Draven of the Rebel Alliance in Rogue One. He was there when Jyn Erso was recruited to steal the plans for the Death Star.

Diego Luna will be reprising his role as Cassian along with Alan Tudyk as K-2SO. It was also announced that he will be joined by Genevieve O’Reilly, who will reprise her role as Mon Mothma (Rogue One, Tin Can), Denise Gough (Collett, Angels in America), Kyle Soller (Anna Karenina, The Titan), and it was also previously announced that Stellan Skarsgard (Thor, Good Will Hunting) has joined the film.

The story will focus on Rebel agent Andor in the early days of the Rebellion against the Empire. The show has been described as a “spy thriller.”

Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One, will write, direct, and serve as showrunner for the series. Additional writers on the series include Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler), Beau Willimon (House of Cards), and Stephen Schiff (The Americans).

What do you think about Smits and Petrie joining the series?
