Jiro's Bass from MY HERO ACADEMIA is Being Brought to Life
Jiro is an underrated character in My Hero Academia in my opinion. She’s super awesome and can play some awesome music. Well, in the Cultural Festival Arc, the sonically inclined hero plays a beautiful purple bass and now that bass is being brought to life. According to @aitaikimochi on Twitter, Edwards Bass Guitars will be selling a recreation of the bass for roughly $1640. That’s a high end instrument.
As you can see in the images, the recreation looks almost perfect, but I’m bothered by one detail. The real-world bass is a jazz bass which is a popular kind of bass for people to use, but in the image from the anime, Jiro’s bass is actually a PJ bass. It features a jazz pickup and a precision pickup, not just two jazz pickups. I don’t understand why they would change that detail. PJ basses are not uncommon. Basic basses are available in the configuration (I bought one for about $200). Regardless of this detail, do you want to pick up this cool new instrument?
