J.J. Abrams is Producing a Supernatural Revenge Thriller in a Western Setting Titled THE PINKERTON

Warner Bros. is aggressively moving forward a new film project being produced by J.J. Abrams titled The Pinkerton. The studio picked up the spec script written by Daniel Casey for Abrams’ Bad Robot production banner.

This is the first big film project that Bad Robot has picked up since the company signed a massive film and TV deal with WarnerMedia.

The main story details are being kept under wraps, but the project is described as “a supernatural revenge thriller in what sources say is a Western setting.” The report goes on to say that “Pinkerton is the name of the detective agency that got its start in the mid-1800s, becoming famous for acting as security for President Abraham Lincoln and working for corporations during America’s industrial age.”

Casey previously worked with Abrams on the 2016 thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane. He also wrote the 2018 sci-fi thriller Kin, which I enjoyed. The writer also worked on the script for Fast and Furious 9.

Abrams always likes to shroud his film projects in secrecy, so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of story this movie will tell.
