J.J. Abrams Says a Script For THE RISE OF SKYWALKER Found Its Way onto eBay and Someone at Lucasfilm Swooped in to Buy It

Looks like Lucasfilm almost had a major problem on their hands when someone got their hands on a script for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and tried to sell it on eBay.

During an interview with GMA, Abrams confirmed that rumors of an official script for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker found its way in the hands of someone not involved with the production. Abrams explains what happened, but doesn’t reveal who’s fault it was:

“One of our actors, I won’t say which one — I want to, but I won’t — left it under their bed and it was found by someone who was cleaning their place. And it was given to someone else, who then went to sell it on eBay.”

Wow! Well, When the script went live on eBay, someone at Lucasfilm noticed that it was a legit script, and they swooped in to buy it before it sold to someone else. I’ve gotta say… that’s a close call! Regardless, I know there have been a ton of leaks going around with rumored information recently. I haven’t personally read any of them because I want to go into this movie fresh. I know as much as I want to know at this point.

As for who left the script under their bed, It’d have to have been one of the main cast members who was allowed to take the script home. Who do you think it was?
