J.J. Abrams' Series MY GLORY WAS I HAD SUCH FRIENDS Scrapped by Apple After Jennifer Garner Drops Out

J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production company have been developing a limited series for Apple TV+ titled My Glory Was I Had Such Friends with Jennifer Garner. Well, Garner dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts, and the series, which has been in development for a long time, has been scrapped.

The series is based on Amy Silverstein’s memoir, and it “showcases the power of friendship and the resilience of the human spirit as it follows an extraordinary group of women who supported Silverstein as she waited for a second life-saving heart transplant.”

Garner is currently starring in another Apple TV+ limited series titled The Last Thing He Told Me, which is an adaptation of Laura Dave’s bestselling novel and is produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine.

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. TV and Bad Robot are still both very interested in getting My Glory Was I Had Such Friends made, and they intend to look for another home for it. A team of writers have been working on additional scripts, and the plan is to have multiple scripts ready to present to potential buyers when the project hits the marketplace.

This is the second J.J. Abrams project that Apple has canceled this year. The first project to be canceled was Demimonde, and that project was scrapped because Abrams was asking for a $250 million budget.
