J.J. Abrams to Shoot STAR WARS: EPISODE VII in IMAX?
It looks like there's a chance that director J.J. Abrams could end up shooting parts of Star Wars: Episode VII in IMAX, and you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way! I would love to see Star Wars in full on IMAX glory!
The news came from IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond during a Goldman Sachs conference with investors, which you can read in its entirety here, but this is what he said regarding Star Wars,
"We are talking to J.J. Abrams test now about the next Star Wars being used with partly IMAX cameras."
We found the news from AICN who points out that the word "test" could be a typo of "team." Abrams is no stranger to IMAX as he shot parts of Star Trek Into Darkness with their cameras. It would be pretty incredible to see some of his Star Wars action sequences in IMAX. I mean, hell! Can you image the opening title and crawl screen blowing up in full IMAX!? Good lord... it looks spectacular in my imagination!
