J.K. Simmons Talks About Commissioner Gordon's Role in Zack Snyder's JUSTICE LEAGUE
J.K. Simmons is the latest actor who worked with Zack Snyder on Justice League to share his thoughts on the director’s upcoming cut of the film. He also talks about his role as Commissioner Gordon and expects his character to return.
In the version of Justice League that was released in theaters, Gordon only showed up briefly, but there’s a chance we might get to see a little more of him in the Snyder Cut. In a recent interview with Jake Hamilton, Simmons said:
“I did talk to Zack, yeah. He had to get everyone’s permission to actually even do that, you know? And by everybody I mean the cast. So yeah, we chatted a couple of times and I don’t know that there’s gonna be significantly more Commissioner Gordon. There was a little bit more that we shot that wasn’t in the first cut there, so, I don’t know. I’m anxiously awaiting as all the fans are.”
Simmons’ casting as Commissioner Gordon was perfect, it’s a shame that the DC films didn’t utilize him more. I would have loved to see more of Simmons taking on the character. He was supposed to be in Ben Affleck’s Batman movie, but we all know how that turned out. Also, in case you don’t remember, Simmons got ripped for the role!
Zack Snyder still has a lot of work to do on his Justice League film, but the fans are excited that his vision of the movie will finally see the light of day.
