J.K. Simmons to Join TERMINATOR: GENESIS

Spider-Man star J.K. Simmons is in negotiations to join director Alan Taylor's Terminator: Genesis. According to THR, Simmons will play "a weary and alcoholic detective who has followed a bizarre case involving Sarah Connor and robots for more than three decades (since 1984, which, not coincidentally, is the year the original movie, directed by James Cameron, was released)."

If everything goes through, Simmons will join Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese. Arnold Schwarzenegger will of course be back to reprise his role as the Terminator. There's still no word on whether he will be a good or bad Terminator in this one.

The reboot will weave together several ideas from the previous Terminator movies, and in the process give fans a fresh new story about Skynet's uprising and its plan to wage war on mankind. To read some possibly spoiler filled story information on the movie click here

Simmons is an amazing actor. I most recently saw him in a Sundance film called Whiplash, and he was insanely awesome in it! That's going to be a movie you don't want to miss. He'll be awesome in Terminator: Genesis, too, probably.
