Joaquin Phoenix Teaming Up with MIDSOMMAR Director Ari Aster for DISAPPOINTMENT BLVD.
The director of the maddening horror films Hereditary and Midsommar, Ari Aster, is set to helm a mysterious new project for A24 titled Disappointment Blvd., and Joaquin Phoenix is on board to star.
We don’t have many details on the project to share with you, but the story is described as “an intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.”
So, it seems like Aster is going to make a different kind of film that won’t involve horror. But who knows, maybe he will incorporate horror elements into the story.
This will be the first film Phoenix stars in since his Oscar-winning performance in Joker, and there’s no doubt that Aster is thrilled to have the actor on board for his film! A lot of fans have been wondering what kind of film Phoenix would jump into next, and now we know!
Phoenix is known for being particular about what he signs onto, so the script for this movie must have been great. Deadline goes on to say that “while he took his time in committing to the project, he never seemed to waver in his interest in teaming with Aster.”
As a fan of these two talents, I’ll be looking forward to seeing what this new movie turns out to be.
