Jodie Foster and Shailene Woodley Join Benedict Cumberbatch in the True Story Drama PRISONER 760
Jodie Foster (Silence of the Lambs, Panic Room), Shailene Woodley (The Descendants, Big Little Lies), and Tahar Rahim (The Looming Tower) have joined Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, The Imitation Game) in the cast of Prisoner 760. Variety provides the following synopsis:
The movie tells the true story of a fight for survival against all odds. Captured by the U.S. government, Mohamedou Ould Slahi (Rahim) languishes in prison for years without charge or trial. Losing all hope, Slahi finds allies in defense attorney Nancy Hollander (Foster) and her associate Teri Duncan (Woodley). Together, they face countless obstacles in a desperate pursuit for justice. Their controversial advocacy, along with evidence uncovered by formidable military prosecutor Lt. Stuart Couch (Cumberbatch), eventually reveals a shocking and far reaching conspiracy.
The film will be based on the book by Mohamedou Ould Slahi. The New York Times best-selling memoir is entitled Guantánamo Diary. Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland) is on board to direct. Principal photography is set to begin December 2nd in South Africa.
