Jodie Foster is in Talks To Join FX's Y: THE LAST MAN Series
It was so great to see Jodie Foster back in a leading role in Hotel Artemis. She was so freakin' great in that movie. After being reminded of how good of an actress she really is when I saw that movie, I thought to myself... "Damn! She needs to be doing more stuff!"
Well, according to That Hashtag Show, the actress is in negotiations to take on a lead role in FX's series adaption of the comic Y: The Last Man. If Foster signs on for the role, she will reportedly play Jennifer Brown, who is the mother of main character Yorick "Y" Brown.
The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world and the story revolves around a character named Yorick Brown, who becomes the last man on Earth after a plague wipes out all of the males on the planet except for him and his pet monkey, Ampersand. He journeys across the world in search of his girlfriend Beth, whom he was proposing to over the phone when the plague struck.
The series is being developed by showrunners Michael Green (American Gods, Blade Runner 2049, Logan) and Aida Mashaka Croal (Luke Cage, Turn). The creator of the comic is also a producer on the series. Melina Matsoukas (Insecure, Master of None, Beyonce: Formation) is set to direct the pilot.
I've got high hopes for this series. FX puts a lot of effort and production value into their projects and if Jodie Foster is cast in the series, that's just going to take it to a whole new level of, Hell, yeah!
