Jodie Whittaker Version of The Doctor Gets Her Very Own DOCTOR WHO Barbie Doll
BBC and Mattel has partnered up to release the first ever Doctor Who Limited Edition Barbie doll! It was created in celebration of the new season of Doctor Who and Jodie Whittaker being the first female version of The Doctor.
The new season of Doctor Who premiered last night and it was great! It had a very fresh feel too it and fans seemed to enjoy it.
When talking about the Doctor Who Barbie doll, Sergei Kuharsky, EVP, Enterprise and Digital Franchises, BBC Studios – Americas had this to say:
“This year, we’re introducing an all-new look for Doctor Who. New monsters, new stories, new characters and of course a new Doctor in Jodie Whittaker, the first woman to play the role. Given Barbie’s celebration of women who have made history, as well as iconic characters from some of the best loved movies and shows, we felt it was a great opportunity to work with Mattel to create a doll based on the Thirteenth Doctor. TheDoctor Who Barbie doll offers fans and collectors a new way to celebrate the adventures of this iconic character.”
Pre-sale of the doll has already started and is available for purchase at Barbie.com, Hot Topic, and BBC Shop. Doctor Who Barbie hitting stores on December 3, 2018. Here’s the description that came along with the press release;
