Joe Carnahan To Direct Kerry Washington and Omar Sky in The Action-Thriller SHADOW FORCE
Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces, The Grey, Boss Level) is set to direct a new action thriller for Lionsgate titled Shadow Force. Kerry Washington (Scandal, Django) and Omar Sy (Lupin, Jurassic World, Intouchables) are set to star in the film.
The story follows “an estranged couple with a bounty on their heads who must go on the run with their son to avoid their former employer, a shadow ops unit that has been sent to kill them.”
That sounds like quite an intense story, and with Carnahan involved, we can expect the movie to feature some great and ridiculously high energy. I like the action films that Carnahan makes and this is sure to be another good one for him to take on.
The script for the film was written by Leon Chills and Carnahan, and it’s being produced by Sterling K. Brown, who was previously attached to star, Washington, Stephen “Dr.” Love, and Pilar Savone.
Nathan Kahane, President, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said in a statement: “Omar is at the top of his powers – combined with his global stardom, he’s ideally suited to co-lead this action-drama with Kerry, whose talent as an actress and a producer is unbounded. We’re thrilled to be working with the production team of Stephen, Kerry, Sterling, and Pilar, who have shepherded this story of a family in peril from the beginning, and with Joe, who will bring a unique, visceral style to the film.”
Carnahan most recently co-wrote and directed the action-thriller Copshop, starring Alexis Louder.
