Joe Manganiello Confirmed to Play Deathstroke in Ben Affleck’s BATMAN Movie
We previously heard a rumor that True Blood actor Joe Manganiello was in negotiations to play Deathstroke in Ben Affleck's solo Batman film. Today the Wall Street Journal has confirmed that Manganiello will indeed play the classic villain!
That test footage of Deathstroke that Affleck recently shared featured Manganiello in costume. He just kept that information from us. According to the WSJ:
DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns confirmed the casting in his first interview discussing his new role overseeing Warner Bros.’ movies based on DC Comics characters.
Johns is currently co-writing the script of the film with Affleck. He didn't say if Deathstroke will appear in Justice League, and he didn't reveal when exactly the new solo Batman film will be released, but it's expected to hit sometime in 2018.
