Joe Manganiello Confirms That a DEATHSTROKE Solo Film is Still in the Works
It seems like DC Entertainment is still in the process of organizing their film slate. There are films that we all know are happening for sure, and then there are projects like Deathstroke, which we haven't heard much about since we saw him pop up during the post-credits scene of Justice League.
They were obviously planning on playing with the character, and at the time, we knew that the character would be a part of Ben Affleck's The Batman and that he was supposed to get his own solo film, but after the big shakeup at Warner Bros. DC division, a lot of the DC films projects were thrown into limbo.
Variety caught up with Manganiello on the red carpet of the Rampage premiere where he confirmed that the film project is still in motion. The Deathstroke movie was supposed to be directed by The Raid's Gareth Evans, and I hope that's still the case.
Evans would give us a badass Deathstroke movie. The character was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez and he's a mercenary and assassin who was genetically engineered to surpass all human limits, once a soldier, Slade Wilson now works as one of the most feared assassins in the DC Universe. He made his first appearance in The New Teen Titans #2 back in 1980.
Are you happy to hear that the Deathstroke solo film might still actually happen?
