Joe Manganiello Says He's Developing a DUNGEONS & DRAGONS TV Show

As you probably know, Joe Manganiello is a huge fan of Dungeons & Dragons, and he’s been playing for years. He’s very passionate about the RPG, and in a recent video that was shared by the Black Forest Wood Company featuring an epic 12-foot-long gaming table being installed in Manganiello’s new home, the actor talked about his involvement with Wizards of the Coast and Dungeons & Dragons.

In the video, Manganiello shared that his is developing a Dungeons & Dragons TV show for them! He said: "I work for Dungeons & Dragons. So, I'm actually shooting a documentary right now and I'm developing a TV show for them."

Manganiello also opened up about his celebrity-loaded weekly D&D game in the video, which features the likes of Tom Morello, Vince Vaughn, and Paul Wight. Manganiello also shared that several other celebrities have expressed interest in wanting to play D&D with him.

There are no details on the TV project, but the actor is a fan of the Dragonlance novel series, calling it the "Star Wars of D&D," so maybe he’s looking at adapting that into a series, which would be cool! But, that’s just me speculating.

As for the documentary that Manganiello mentioned, that was announced a few months ago. The doc will explore the popular tabletop role-playing game, and it’s being billed as the definitive take.

The doc will draw from “over 400 hours of archived, never-before-seen footage going back to the game’s creation in the early 1970s, to which the Manganiellos, Newman, and Adam F. Goldberg have spent recent years acquiring exclusive rights. The film, also featuring exclusive interviews with celebrity fans of the game, will benefit from Wizards of the Coast’s offering to the filmmakers of inside access to highly confidential developments concerning the game and brand, this being the first time this level of access has been authorized.”
