Joe Manganiello Talks About Starting a DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Club at a Children's Hospital

It is a known fact that Joe Manganiello is a big Dungeons & Dragons fan. Well, during a recent interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show where he was talking about Archenemy, Manganiello talked about starting a D&D club at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where he serves on the board of directors.

Manganiello talks about how hard things can be for some of the children who are undergoing treatment and how lonely it must feel, so he thought of a way to help connect them. He got D&D to send crates of supplies, and then he and his brother went to the hospital to teach the kids.

One of the beautiful things about D&D is that you go into this other world and you're not you, and it's super immersive. I thought that maybe that would work for the kids – that maybe for a few hours they could not have to deal with what they were dealing with, and escape and play as a character. And it worked.

You can watch the entire interview below with the D&D talk starting around the five minute mark. As an added bonus, one of the kids that Manganiello worked with even joined into the interview via Skype.

This is a pretty great story. I’m not crying...you’re crying!

It's officially the season of giving, so actor Joe Manganiello gives Kelly some ice for her injured knee while Kelly gives Joe his favorite sandwich straight...
