Joe Russo Says ENDGAME Has More Spoilers Than INFINITY WAR

Joe Russo recently said a curious thing in an interview. He said that Avengers: Endgame has “more spoilers than [Infinity War].” This is leading some to question what the heck he means by these words and the truth is, it’s hard to know since everyone has a different definition of what qualifies as a spoiler.

Some think that knowing anything about a film including things from promo materials counts as a spoiler while others reserve the word for important plot points and twists. Here’s the full quote from Box Office Pro:

At a certain point, I’m sure we’ll write another letter this year that asks everyone to stay off the internet. I think this one has even more spoilers than the last one. This is a culture that wants everything now, and it’s getting worse. The world is connected via social media, and information travels within seconds. If you’ve been following along with this narrative for 10 years, you’re going to want to protect yourself. It’s best to go in clean. I encourage people to go opening weekend because I’m sure everything is going to hit the internet the moment the movie hits the screen.

One idea I saw that I am currently in agreement with comes from /Film and talks about how Endgame would have more spoilers than Infinity War because we know a lot less for this film than that one.

For Infinity War we knew that Thanos was going to be going after the Infinity Stones to reach his goal. For Endgame, all we know is really who will be in it and that the goal is to stop Thanos somehow while reversing what he did. While we knew more or less how Infinity War was going to go (Thanos travelling to collect the different stones and our heroes trying to stop him), we have no idea what kind of path is going to occur in Endgame. There are a lot of theories that probably have some truth to them, but that’s all they are right now. Theories.

What do you think Russo meant by saying there are more spoilers in Endgame than Infinity War? Endgame will be in theaters starting April 26.
