Joe The Sinister Creeper is Back in Netflix's Teaser Trailer For YOU Season 2
A new city, a new identity. What could go wrong?
In 2018 the sinister series You premiered on Lifetime and completely bombed. After canceling the series it popped up on Netflix, which is where people discovered it and it became a huge hit! There were a ton of people watching and talking about the show. I actually got hooked on it before I knew that everyone else was watching. Shortly after I binged it I started noticing people talking about it.
Well, with the show becoming a huge success on Netflix, it made sense that the streaming service would want to produce a second season. The first teaser trailer for that second season has been released and it features the return of Penn Badgley as super creeper Joe Goldberg and this time he has a new identity with Los Angeles as his new hunting ground.
In the teaser, we see Joe enter a coffee shop and comments on the hypocrisy of all the people there. He says, “That’s the thing about L.A, everyone is pretending to be somebody they’re not,” at that point he ironically reveals his new identity, “I’m Will.”
Will Bettelheim is a newcomer to L.A. who “has sworn off love. But love, like murder, has a way of tracking you down.” Joe’s new obsession is an aspiring chef named Love played by Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Hill House). “Love is uninterested in the world of social media, branding and self-promotion, focused instead on leading an interesting life. She is also tending to a deep grief — and when she meets Joe Goldberg, she senses a shared knowledge of profound, life-changing loss.” But Joe’s past may come back to haunt him as Candace, who has discovered his true nature, is tracking him down.
You was created by Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti and is based on the book by Caroline Kepnes. You Season 2 drops on Netflix on December 26th.
