Joel David Moore Returning to Pandora in AVATAR Sequels

Joel David Moore has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Avatar sequels. Deadline reports that Moore will be reprising his role as scientist Norm Spellman that was in 2009's Avatar. If you remember Dr. Spellman was one of the scientists that taught Sam Worthington's character about the Avatar program in the movie.

Moore joins many other cast members returning, including Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, and Sigourney Weaver, as well as recently announced newcomer Cliff Curtis (Fear the Walking Dead). 

Not much is known yet about what will happen in the Avatar sequels, but we have heard that some of it will take place under water. 

20th Century Fox has scheduled the sequels to hit theaters during the holiday season of 2021, 2024 and 2025. James Cameron’s Avatar is still the highest-earning film worldwide, it has pulled in a whopping $2.79 billion gross at the box office.

It really doesn't come as much surprise that Moore was recast, but with the very hostile environment of Pandora and so many sequels already set in stone, do you think it's likely his character will survive through all of them?
