Joel Edgerton Believed To Be Reprising His Role as Uncle Owen in Lucasfilm's OBI-WAN KENOBI Series?

It looks like there’s a chance that Ewan McGregor won’t be the only actor to reprise his role in Lucasfilm’s upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. Joel Edgerton could be coming back to the franchise as well to reprise his role as Uncle Owen. While this isn’t confirmed, a recent interview by MTV’s Josh Horowitz suggests that Edgarton might be coming back for the role. At least that’s what he believes!

On Twitter, he shared, “Caught up with Joel Edgerton today (check out THE KING! I really enjoyed). I have almost no doubt based on his coy evasiveness that he will be in the Obi Wan Disney+ series. I’ve seen many an actor playfully evade. I’m placing a big bet that Owen will be back.”

Edgerton first appeared as Uncle Owen Lars in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and later returned at the end of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith where he and Beru Lars when Obi-Wan Kenobi showed up to entrust them with Luke Skywalker after Obi-Wan Kenobi after Padme died.

While, this is not a confirmation of Edgerton’s involvement, it would be pretty cool to see him come back to reprise his role. It would make sense for Owen to be in the series as it will be set on Tatooine. And if Owen is involved I imagine Aunt Beru and a young version Luke Skywalker will be involved as well. That would be interesting!

Would you like to see Edgerton reprise his role in the series? Do you think he will?

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series will debut on Disney+ sometime after its launch on November 12, 2019.
