Joel Edgerton, Marion Cotillard, and Sebastian Stan Cast in THE BRUTALIST
Brady Corbet has been in a number of films as an actor, but in the last few years has jumped into the director’s chair, having written and directed the films The Childhood of a Leader and the Natalie Portman-led Vox Lux. Now Corbet is helming another film he wrote, and he has quite an impressive cast that has signed on to star.
The Brutalist tells the story of an architect that has immigrated to the United States in 1947 and spends the next three decades developing his masterpiece. The film has brought on Joel Edgerton, Marion Cotillard, Sebastian Stan, Vanessa Kirby, Raffey Cassidy, Mark Rylance, Alessandro Nivola, Stacy Martin, and Isaach De Bankole to star.
When visionary architect László Toth (Edgerton) and his wife Erzsébet (Cotillard) flee post-war Europe to rebuild their legacy and witness the birth of modern America, their lives are changed forever by a mysterious and wealthy client (Rylance).
This sounds like a solid story with a great cast. Hopefully they can make a movie that moves along, and doesn’t feel like it lasts three decades, as some epic tales can tend to do. Does this sound like a movie you might like?
