Joel Edgerton Stars in the Trailer for MASTER GARDENER From the Writer of TAXI DRIVER
Joel Edgerton (Loving, Bright, Boy Erased) stars in the drama Master Gardener, which some are saying is the defining role of his career. The film is written and directed by Academy Award nominee Paul Schrader, who previously wrote Taxi Driver, The Last Temptation of Christ, First Reformed, and The Card Counter. The film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year, also stars Sigourney Weaver, Quintessa Swindell, Eduardo Losan, Esai Morales, Rick Cosnett, Victoria Hill, and Amy Le.
The synopsis reads:
The film follows Narvel Roth (Joel Edgerton), the meticulous horticulturist of Gracewood Gardens. He is as much devoted to tending the grounds of this beautiful and historic estate, to pandering to his employer, the wealthy dowager Mrs. Haverhill (Sigourney Weaver). When Mrs. Haverhill demands that he take on her wayward and troubled great-niece Maya (Quintessa Swindell) as an apprentice, chaos enters Narvel’s spartan existence, unlocking dark secrets from a buried violent past that soon threaten them all.
This looks pretty intense! Edgerton seems to give a solid performance, and the story looks intriguing. Check out the trailer and poster for the film below, and watch Master Gardener in US theaters on May 19th.
