Joel McHale Joins Psych: The Movie 2 With Jimmi Simpson Also Set to Return
In a fun Instagram post from Psych star Timothy Omundson, we found out that Joel McHale (Community, Santa Clarita Diet) is joining the cast of Psych: The Movie 2. We don’t have any character details yet for McHale’s role, but have the description that he’s a mysterious character from Lassie’s past. Not only that, but Jimmi Simpson (Date Night, Westworld) tweeted a video confirming that he is returning to the sequel and reprising his role as Mary Lightly.
The original series follows “fake psychic Shawn Spencer, played by James Roday (A Million Little Things), and Burton ‘Gus’ Guster, played by Dulé Hill (Suits), as best friend/crime-solving partners. The show had an immense following, with its eight series run and its first movie that followed, so it’s pretty fun that fans are getting this second follow up.
I hate to admit that I still haven’t watched the series. It’s on my list! My friend Sherry says it’s her favorite show of all time, and it was my Uncle Jerry’s favorite as well. He loved the fact that there were pineapples hidden in every episode, and made it his mission not only to find the pineapples, but to spread pineapples around his own life and give them to the people he loved. He said life was about finding the good and fun in each day, and he was certainly the good and fun in so many people’s days. So, this is me committing to watching the series and getting just as pumped as all of you to watch the second movie.
