Joel McHale Set to Star in New Fox Workplace Comedy Series ANIMAL CONTROL

Joel McHale (Community) is set to star in a new Fox workplace comedy series titled Animal Control. The actor will also be an executive producer on the comedy.

Animal Control was created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Dan Sterling, and they pretty much built it around McHale. They wanted him to star in it from the very beginning.

The series follows “a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not. McHale will play Frank, an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room. A former cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he’s so cynical and curmudgeonly. He has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals. Humans…not so much.”

Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment of Fox Entertainment shared in a statement: “Joel’s acerbic wit and ability to bring a comedic lens to everything he’s involved with make him the perfect person to bring Frank to life.”

I like McHale and several of the projects that he’s been a part of. It’ll be great to see him lead a proper comedy series again!
