John Boyega Admits It Was His STAR WARS: RISE OF SKYWALKER Script That Ended Up on eBay
Earlier this week, J.J. Abrams confirmed that a Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker script found its way onto eBay. Abrams didn’t reveal whose fault it was, all he said was:
“One of our actors, I won’t say which one — I want to, but I won’t — left it under their bed and it was found by someone who was cleaning their place. And it was given to someone else, who then went to sell it on eBay.”
When the script went live on eBay, someone at Lucasfilm noticed that it was a legit script, and they swooped in to grab it before it sold to someone else.
Well, now we know whose script it was. John Boyega admitted that it was his script under his bed that was stolen by a cleaning person. He took responsibility for the carelessness during an interview on Good Morning America and explained what happened. He’s pretty charming and funny about the whole thing.
Boyega explains that he was getting ready to move at the time he stashed the script under his bed thinking he’d get back to it later. But then his friends came over and they started to party a bit, resulting in Boyega forgetting that the script was under the bed. It sat there until it was picked up by the cleaning person, who put it on eBay for only £60. In regards to that, Boyega said, “They clearly didn’t realize the significance.”
