John Boyega and Darren Criss Star in Sci-Fi Podcast THERE BE MONSTERS
John Boyega and Darren Criss have apparently teamed up to star in an upcoming sci-fi thriller podcast called There Be Monsters. The 10-part podcast comes from iHeartRadio, FlynnPictureCo., Psychopia Picutres, and UpperRoom Productions with a planned release later this year on iHeartPodcast Network. In There Be Monsters, Boyega will play “a mysterious hero with a vendetta” named Jack Locke. Criss will play Max Fuller described as an enigmatic CEO.
Boyega plays Jack Locke, a mysterious hero with a vendetta who infiltrates a Silicon Valley body hacking startup run by an enigmatic CEO Max Fuller (Criss), whose highly secretive creations promise to enhance human biology in incredible ways. Of course, every drug has a side effect.
There Be Monsters started development towards the end of 2019, and then before the actors could be recorded earlier this year, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a halt to the progress. However, due to the wonders of technology, everyone was able to do work from their homes and everything is good to go.
Other stars of There Be Monsters include Clark Gregg, Sahr Ngaujah, and Marley Shelton with Dan Bush serving as director and co-writer with Nicholas Tecosky. Boyega released the following statement:
Getting to explore this format of storytelling whilst also adjusting to new methods of recording with the cast members made it an exciting process. I’m thrilled it all came together and hope audiences are just as drawn in as I was to this sci-fi thriller series.
This could be a fun podcast to listen to. I’ll probably check it out when it releases. Sadly, we don’t have a release date yet for There Be Monsters.
