John Boyega Doesn't Think He'll Play Finn Again After STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy recently talked about the future of the Star Wars franchise after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. One of the things she said was that the upcoming film may not be the last we see of certain characters.

She didn’t specify which characters, but one actor doesn’t think that the future of Star Wars involves him. During an interview with MTV, John Boyega truly thinks that he will not return to play the character Finn again in any future projects. When asked about it he said:

"Honestly, the bottom of my heart, I don't think I am. I don't think I am. I feel like it's--I really do feel that way."

He went on to say:

"Honestly, no, seriously, I just--this is really that movie, I think everyone doesn't believe it, but this is that war that just ends everything. So I'm just like, wow, you know?"

Obviously, this has fans speculating that Finn will end up dying in the film, concluding his journey in the Star Wars universe. But who knows! Anything could happen!

One other thing that he added was that he thinks the film "definitely" will answer all of fans' questions about the series. So that’s good! I know a lot of fans that want answers to their lingering questions. I’ve got a ton of my own!

After The Rise of Skywalker is released, the Star Wars films will go on a bit of a hiatus so that the studio and the creatives can prepare to launch the next decade of the beloved franchise.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker releases December 20th.
