John Boyega Shares an Update on His ATTACK THE BLOCK Sequel
I remember when Attack The Block was first released in theaters. It was such a cool and fun movie-going experience that was completely unexpected. That was over a decade ago, and there has been talk of a sequel being developed by writer and director Joe Cornish and star John Boyega.
Boyega recently offered an update on the sequel revealing that it’s alive and well and they’re still working on it:
"We're in the lab. We're cooking, we're cooking. I sat down with Joe Cornish just literally a few weeks ago. So expect some news soon. We're still in development but we're cooking something real sweet. We'll have something soon."
That’s great news! I’ve been curious to see how this crazy alien invasion sci-fi story would continue in a sequel. I just enjoyed the first film so much, but it seems like it would have a different feel with all of those kids grown up now. But, there’s no doubt it would still be fun! There’s no word on if any of the other stars from the original film will even come back for the sequel, for all we know this next movie could focus on just Boyega. The actor said in a statement last year:
"It's been a decade since Attack The Block was released and so much has changed since then. I'm excited to see this heightened story return to the streets of London. Moses has remained one of my favourite characters to play and bringing him back is a huge honour."
Cornish added:
"I'm thrilled we're officially announcing our return to the world of Attack The Block on the tenth anniversary of the film's release. I can't wait to work alongside John again, bringing audiences an even bigger slice of inner-city alien action."
