John Cusack and Emile Hirsch Play Father and Son in Trailer for Hacker Action Thriller PURSUIT
A trailer and poster have been released for the action thriller Pursuit. The film follows a hacker who is trying to find his wife after he gets involved with a bad group of people. John Cusack (Say Anything, Grosse Pointe Blank) and Emile Hirsch (Alpha Dog, Into the Wild) star in the film as father and son, and they are joined in the cast by Jake Manley (Midway), Elizabeth Ludlow (The Walking Dead), William Katt (The Greatest American Hero), Andrew Stevens (Dallas), and Graham Patrick Martin (Major Crimes).
Here’s the film’s synopsis:
An action thriller about a tough cop's hunt for an even tougher criminal. Det. Breslin crosses paths with Calloway (Hirsch), a ruthless hacker desperate to find his wife, who has been kidnapped by a drug cartel. When Calloway escapes police custody, Breslin joins forces with a no-nonsense female cop to reclaim his convict. But is Calloway's crime-boss father (Cusack) somehow involved in the explosive situation?
Pursuit is directed by Brian Skiba (Blood Moon Rising, Crushed Velvet), from a screenplay written by Brian Skiba, Andrew Stevens, Dawn Bursteen and Ben Fiore.
John Cusack has always been one of my favorite actors, but I feel like the last few years his film choices have been pretty lackluster. I had more hope for this film, seeing Emile Hirsch, another favorite actor, starring as well. But this doesn’t look very good. I’m hoping it’s better than the trailer conveys. Check it out below, and watch Pursuit in select US theaters and on VOD on February 18th, 2022.
