John Cusack to Join J.K. Simmons in the Dark Comedy Heist Thriller MY ONLY SUNSHINE

I would really love to see John Cusack start starring in great movies again. The last movie that I saw him in that I absolutely loved was the Brian Wilson biopic Love & Mercy. The guy is a great actor, but in recent years he’s been taking on a lot of substandard films.

Well, the actor is now in talks to star alongside J.K. Simmons in a dark comedy heist thriller titled My Only Sunshine. Simmons is another fantastic actor who usually takes on solid film projects, so hopefully, this will be another good project for Cusack.

In the film, Cusack will play "one half of a passionately dysfunctional couple, who orchestrate a bank robbery as an unconventional act of bloodthirsty marriage counseling. Trying to make peace with the shocking mystery of their relationship throughout a violent hostage situation is a cop hostage negotiator (Simmons), who previously investigated a past related murder.”

Yeah, I’d watch this, and it actually sounds like the kind of film and character that will play to Cusack and Simmons’ strengths.

The movie is being directed by Mark Palansky (Penelope) from a script written by J.T. Petty and K. Reed Petty Does this sound like a movie you might enjoy watching?
