John Krasinski Has Set a Deal With ViacomCBS to Bring SOME GOOD NEWS to the Fans as a Regular Series

We got word of some bittersweet news this weekend. After last week’s eighth and final-ish episode of John Krasinski’s YouTube series, Some Good News, the actor signed a deal with ViacomCBS to bring the series to fans on the regular.

I figured the series wasn’t sustainable with Krasinski forever, as he is a very busy guy with consistent projects in Hollywood. While Krasinski will not be the series host, Variety reports he “is expected to have a recurring on-air presence.”

The weekly series is expected to air on “CBS All Access, possibly with other windows on linear networks.” Krasinski said in a statement that he “could not be more excited and proud to be partnering with CBS/Viacom to be able to bring Some Good News to so many more people. From the first episode, our goal was to create a news show dedicated entirely to good news. Never did I expect to be joining the ranks of such a historic news organization as CBS.”

While it’s a bummer that Krasinski won’t be the face to bring us our weekly dose of good news, it’s nice that the series will live on. Some Good News has been a true bright spot in the pandemic, and I think a little more good news is never a bad idea.

Are you looking forward to the continuation of the series?
