John Krasinski's Next Directing Project is a Sci-Fi Film Called LIFE ON MARS
Who would have thought that John Krasinski would be the next hot director in Hollywood!? As his horror film A Quiet Place continues to have success, Krasinski has found his next directing gig. According to THR, he will be taking on a sci-fi film project called Life on Mars. The full producing team behind A Quiet Place is also attached. Those producers include Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller.
Life on Mars will be an adaptation of a short story written by Cecil Castellucci titled We Have Always Lived on Mars. Krasinski found this story and brought it to his Platinum Dunes to produce.
The story centers on a woman "who is among a handful of descendants of a Martian colony long-abandoned by Earth following a cataclysm. The woman one day finds she can breathe the air on Mars, upending her world and that of her fellow colonists."
As of right now, Krasinski has no plans to star in the film. He's just attached as the director and the current creative team is now on the hunt for a writer.
Krasinski started his directing career with a film in 2009 called Brief Interviews With Hideous Men. He then directed several episodes of The Office. In 2016 he directed a little dramedy called The Hollars, and then he made A Quiet Place, which is the film that put him on the map. So his journey to becoming a big director hasn't been an easy overnight journey.
Life on Mars sounds like a great film project to take on.
