John Leguizamo Coaches Teen Chess Team in Trailer For CRITICAL THINKING
John Leguizamo dives into the world of chess in the upcoming film Critical Thinking. Not only does he star in the movie, but he he directed it as well. This is actually the first film that he’s directed in his long career working in Hollywood. Today, we have the first trailer for the film to share with you and it looks good!
Critical Thinking is set in 1988 and is based on the true story of five LatinX and Black teenagers from the toughest underserved ghetto in Miami, who fight their way into the National Chess Championship under the guidance of their unconventional but inspirational teacher.
Leguizamo stars as their coach, Mario Martinez, and he is joined by Rachel Bay Jones, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Angel Bismark Curiel, Will Hochman, Corwin C. Tuggles, Jeffry Batista, Ramses Jimenez, and Zora Casebere.
I’m always up for a movie that moves and inspires, and on top of that, the film highlights the importance of chess and sharpening your mind. Yeah, I’ll be checking this one out!
Critical Thinking will be released on VOD on September 4th.
