John Lithgow Is Still Kicking Himself For Turning Down The Joker

John Lithgow is still kicking himself for not taking the Joker role in Batman. Lithgow shares his story with Yahoo Films, and says he reportedly talked himself out of a job to Tim Burton

“I have never told anyone this story, but I tried to persuade him I was not right for the part, and I succeeded. I didn’t realize it was such a big deal. About a week later I heard they were going after Robin Williams and Jack Nicholson.”

I can't imagine John Lithgow playing the Joker, so I'm happy he ultimately passed on it, but it does make you wonder if the film would be as successful with Lithgow in the headlining role. What do you think? Would Lithgow make a good Joker?
