John Lithgow Will Hunt Down Jeff Bridges in FX's OLD MAN with Jon Watts Set to Direct
John Lithgow has joined Jeff Bridges in the upcoming FX drama Old Man. It was also announced that that Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far from Home director Jon Watts will direct the pilot and executive produce the series.
Old Man is based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Perry, and the series centers on “Dan Chase (Bridges), who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past.”
According to Variety, Lithgow will take on the role of Harold Harper. The character is described as “intelligent and tough with deep reservoirs of compassion and ruthlessness, Harper is called back to service by the FBI after suffering a terrible personal loss. He has a complicated past with rogue fugitive Chase, which makes him uniquely suited for hunting him down.”
I love this cast and with Watts helping lead the charge on the creative side, this series has a good chance of turning out great! I can’t wait to see it!
