John Malkovich Cast in Comic Book Convention Heist Comedy SUPERCON
John Malkovich has been cast in an upcoming comedy heist film called Supercon, which is set at a comic book convention.
According to Variety, the story follows "a group of washed up television stars and comic book artists who make their living attending conventions. Down on their luck, the ragtag team hashes a plot to rob the convention and bring justice to a crooked promoter and an overbearing former TV icon."
There's no information on who exactly Malkovich will be playing, but it seems like a film project he could have a lot of fun with. Whatever he ends up doing in the film, I'm sure he'll be awesome.
As someone who enjoys going to geek conventions, I love the concept for the film and it is sure to make for an entertaining movie. Supercon is being directed by Zak Knutson, who has directed several documentaries and TV specials for Kevin Smith and Marvel. The movie is currently shooting in New Orleans.
