John Travolta Brings His Flying Obsession to Life in Trailer For PROPELLER ONE-WAY NIGHT COACH

Apple TV has released the first trailer for Propeller One-Way Night Coach, a deeply personal aviation story written and directed by John Travolta in his feature directorial debut.

This one leans hard into his lifelong obsession with flying, and yeah… it’s a little cheesy, but also kind of charmingl. If you’ve ever wanted to understand why Travolta is so into planes, this movie spells it out.

Set during the golden age of aviation, the film follows Jeff, played by newcomer Clark Shotwell, a young airplane enthusiast traveling cross-country with his mother, played by Kelly Eviston-Quinnett.

What starts as a simple flight to Hollywood turns into something much bigger. The journey becomes a defining moment in the kid’s life, packed with oddball passengers, in-flight experiences, and unexpected detours that shape his future.

The film leans into the romance of air travel. Between airline meals, charming flight attendants played by Ella Bleu Travolta and Olga Hoffmann, surprise stopovers, and even a peek into first class, the story unfolds in a series of moments that are meant to feel magical and formative.

This is very much a “falling in love with flying” kind of story, mirroring Travolta’s own real-life passion. This project is based on Travolta’s 1997 book of the same name, and you can tell it’s something he’s been wanting to bring to life for a long time.

He not only directs but also appears in the film, adding another layer of personal connection. The movie is set to premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in the Cannes Premieres section before landing on Apple TV on May 29, 2026.

This is a full-on love letter to aviation, wrapped in a coming-of-age story that feels like it was pulled straight out of someone’s childhood memories. If you’re into planes, nostalgic storytelling, or just curious to see Travolta step behind the camera, this might be worth the ride.
