John Travolta Has Made a Ridiculous VR Crime Series Called SPEED KILLS and Here's the Trailer

"I’m not selling Blue Thunder to you!"

John Travolta! What are you doing!? As you know, the actor has made a string of terrible films in recent years and this upcoming VR project that he worked on, Speed Kills, looks like one of the most ridiculous. It's like Travolta has just given up on making good movies! Remember, this is a two-time Oscar-nominated actor making these crappy films!  I guess John Travolta is having fun making bad movies?

The project is both a film and VR series experience and it's based on a true story set in Miami in the 1980s. Travolta plays a speedboat racing champion who ends up getting caught up with the mob and when he's not able to keep promises that he made, things take a turn for the worse. The boat he cruises around in has a "007" graphic slapped on the side of it. Just wait until you watch the trailer, it's quite an awful sight to see.

The movie was directed by Jodi Scurfield and the cast also includes Kathleen Winnick, Kellan Lutz, James RemarTom Sizemore, and Matthew Modine, who plays George Bush. Yep. Thanks to VRFocus.com, we have some additional information on Speed Kills:

The title offers a unique perspective inside the life of a notorious speed boat builder, who at one time made the fastest boasts around which were used by both the US Coast Guard and drug smugglers in the late 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s. Speed Kills VR Experience is inspired by a true story that covers the rise and fall of the world champion and multi-millionaire whose life can be witnessed in fully immersive VR.

Created by TopDogVR, the groundbreaking drama is split across eight episodes each running for around seven to nine minutes in length. Each episode explores a different part of the tale include boat racing, mobster beatings, drug running and DEA chasing in full 360-degrees. The action packed experience will give viewers a truly immersive feeling of being a part of the events as they sit right in the heart of the drama.

Maybe some people might actually want to see this. I'm kinda curious to watch it just to see how bad it really is. You can check out the trailer below along with a couple of clips and some poster art.

The movie did win Best Feature Film VR 2018 at the Cinequest Film Festival in Silicon Valley earlier this year, but I imagine there isn't much competition. If you're curious, the VR experience is currently available to download on Oculus, the Google Play store, and Apple’s app store. The movie is said to be getting a theatrical release on November 16, 2018.
