JOHN WICK Director Chad Stahelski Says the HIGHLANDER Remake With Henry Cavill Is Closer Than Its Ever Been

A remake of the classic 1986 Highlander film has long been in the works, and we have a little update from the director attached, John Wick helmer, Chad Stahelski. The project is set to star Man of Steel and The Witcher actor Henry Cavill, and the script is being written by Ryan J. Condal (Colony, House of the Dragon) and Kerry Williamson, who is creating the upcoming Battlestar Galactica series remake.

Stahelski has had a lot on his plate lately, with the anticipated John Wick sequels coming up, as well as his film Ghost of Tsushima, and a few other projects. But while discussing fellow stuntman J.J. Perry's directorial debut Day Shift, which Stahelski also produced, the director spoke a little about where they are in the pre-production process with the Highlander film, saying:

We're in the process of tweaking right now. I think we know what we want. More importantly than anything, we know what we want to make. It's in the creatives. We know what we're trying to make. It's just a matter of getting it to the point where we feel, "Okay, this is it. Let's go." But we're closer than we've ever been, so that's good.

It definitely sounds like it’s actively in the works. Are you looking forward to the Highlander remake from Stahelski and Cavill?
