John Woo Casts Kid Cudi in His Upcoming Action Thriller SILENT NIGHT

Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi (X, Don’t Look Up, Westworld) has joined the cast of director John Woo’s upcoming action-thriller Silent Night. He will star alongside Joel Kinnaman, Harold Torres and Catalina Sandino Moreno.

The film centers on Godlock (Kinnaman), “a father on a mission to avenge his young son who was tragically caught in the crossfire of gang violence on Christmas Eve. Shot and nearly killed while in pursuit of the murderers, Godlock vows to avenge his son by any means necessary.”

Kid Cudi will take on the role of a detective named Dennis Vassel. In regards to the casting, producer Joe Gatta said in a statement: “Based on what we’ve seen from set so far, it’s clear that Scott has a presence and gravitas that is incredibly captivating. He is a powerful addition, and perfect complement, to this stellar cast.”

The film is currently in production in Mexico City and the script was written by Robert Lynn. I’m excited about John Woo making another American action film. This will be the first U.S. feature film that Woo has made since Paycheck way back in 2003. The movie is described as a “loud action tale, without a word of dialogue.”
