Johnny Depp Will Try to Solve Biggie and Tupac's Murders in LABYRINTH

Johnny Depp is in hot water for allegedly being abusive toward his now-ex-wife Amber Heard, but despite his recent string of terrible movies, he's still one of the biggest stars on the planet. That means that whether these things are true or not, Hollywood doesn't want to believe them because that means they wouldn't be able to cast him in projects and use him to make money. (The industry has a long history of looking the other way when it comes to successful people dating all the way back to the earliest days of film.) So while the public makes up their minds about whether or not to support future films in which Depp appears, Hollywood is moving full steam ahead on the Depp train.

ScreenDaily reports that Depp will star in a new movie called Labyrinth (no relation to the sequel/adaptation of the David Bowie classic) in which he'll play Russell Poole, a former L.A.P.D. officer who became a private detective and attempted to solve the murders of rappers Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur and uncovered corruption in the police ranks. Brad Furman, who directed The Lincoln Lawyer and the Bryan Cranston drug thriller The Infiltrator, is directing this film, but we don't know when it starts shooting or when we can expect to see it in theaters. Thoughts?
