Johnny Galecki Developing -90s Internet Startup Workplace Comedy AOK at CBS

The Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki is developing a ‘90s workplace comedy titled AOK. The half-hour multi-cam project is being made by Warner Bros. Television for CBS, and Galecki is teaming with Will & Grace exec producer John Quaintance to bring it to life. Galecki and Quaintance will both executive produce, and the latter will write and create.

The story takes place at an underdog Internet company in pre-AOL 1991, and will follow “a group of young and mostly idealistic entrepreneurs who work together, hang out together, and fall in and out of love with each other, all while trying to change their world, and holding up a mirror to ours.”

Galecki told Deadline:

“This specific period of time is personal to many, including all of us involved so it’s important to make the show feel as authentic as possible. We are excited to reimagine the 90’s sitcom through a modern lens as John has created something truly special.  We hope to surprise people in a familiar place with characters you will fall in love with.”

This sounds like a fun series. I will definitely give it a try when it hits CBS. Does it sound like a sitcom you might like?
