Johnny Knoxville Battles a Bunch of Wild Kids in Funny TINY FUGITIVES Trailer
Summer camp is supposed to be about swimming, campfires, questionable cafeteria food, and making friends. In Tiny Fugitives, a group of 12-year-olds decides it should also be about abandoning normal life forever.
Inaugural Entertainment has released the official trailer for the coming-of-age youth comedy, which sends a pack of determined kids on a ridiculous mission to stay at Jewish sleepaway camp permanently.
Their plan might actually have a chance if they weren't being hunted down by a completely unhinged camp counselor played by Johnny Knoxville.
The movie comes from producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, part of the team behind Good Boys, Neighbors, and Blockers, and the trailer definitely has some of that same mischievous kid comedy energy.
The official synopsis reads: “From the guys that brought you Good Boys, Neighbors, Blockers. Tiny Fugitives follows a reckless, fiercely determined group of twelve-year-olds who hatch a chaotic plot to escape reality and spend the rest of their lives at sleepaway camp.
“Standing between them and permanent freedom is Bob – the camp's deranged, relentless, 50-year-old lifer counselor who will stop at nothing to thwart their plans.”
Knoxville plays Bob, the 50-year-old camp lifer who has apparently decided that stopping these kids is his personal war. That's a pretty perfect role for Knoxville, and watching him go head-to-head with a bunch of scheming 12-year-olds looks like it could deliver some great comedy.
The trailer has plenty of summer camp chaos, but it also looks more entertaining than the usual collection of tired camp comedy jokes. There's even a funny riff on the electric fence sequence from Jurassic Park.
Joining Knoxville in the cast are Benjamin Pajak, Aaron Harris, Isa Steiner, Jai Soundar, Alyssa Gervasi, Blake Anderson, and Jay Baruchel.
Tiny Fugitives is directed by Michael Lewen, who previously helmed Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between along with episodes of several TV series. Lewen co-wrote the screenplay with Jacob Kaplan.
There have been plenty of summer camp comedies over the years, but Tiny Fugitives looks like it has enough weird kid energy and Johnny Knoxville insanity to make this one worth checking out.
Tiny Fugitives opens in select U.S. theaters on September 18, 2026.
