JOJO RABBIT Actor Archie Yates to Star in Disney's HOME ALONE Reboot

The lovable Jojo Rabbit co-star Archie Yates is set to star in Disney+’s Home Alone reboot alongside Ellie Kemper (The Office) and Rob Delaney (Hobbs & Shaw).

I absolutely loved Yates in Jojo Rabbit, and while I’m not a fan of Home Alone being rebooted, I’ll watch it to support this kid because he’s going to be awesome in the film! He’s just such a lovable and charming young actor. Yates will not be playing Kevin McCallister in the series, but “a new character in a similar premise to the original franchise.” Kevin won’t be in the series.

The new Home Alone project is said to follow a “husband and wife who go to war with a young boy, Max. I assume Yates is playing Max, who is described as an “energetic, witty nine-year-old boy with a mischievous side. He feels wise beyond his years and has the personality to easily converse with adults—plus the uncanny ability to relentlessly push their buttons. But, he also displays a sense of innocence and a kind heart much like the original protagonist.”

As for Kemper and Delaney, the report points out that they will not play the parents of Yates’ character. So, I assume that means they are going to play the husband and wife who go to war with Max.

Dan Mazer (Dirty Grandpa) is on board to direct the film from a script by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell. I’m happy to see Yates land a lead role in a film, I’m sure that this will be a fun project for him, and I’m looking forward to seeing another entertaining performance from the young actor.
